Hasbro officially opens Wizards of the Coast Studios in Montréal

Why this matters: our read

I read this as a digital-games story first: the release names new Dungeons & Dragons content and a growing digital portfolio, and gives no title, date or budget. For the tabletop trade, the useful fact is where Hasbro is putting headcount.

Hasbro announced on October 8, 2026 that its new Montréal studio, Wizards of the Coast Studios Inc., is now formally open in a downtown office. Employees, partners, media and local officials attended an opening event.

Hasbro says the studio will build new Dungeons & Dragons content and support the digital side of Wizards of the Coast’s business. At 35,518 square feet, it is meant to reach roughly 200 staff by 2028, and the company expects the opening to add hundreds of jobs to the city’s games sector.

This studio will grow to be the largest concentration of video game talent at Hasbro

Dan Ayoub, Senior Vice President, Head of Dungeons & Dragons and Head of Wizards of the Coast Canada, Hasbro

The company points to its history in the region: Wizards has had a Montréal presence since buying Invoke Studios in 2019. Two agencies, Montréal International and Investissement Québec International, backed the project.

Dan Ayoub, who leads Dungeons & Dragons and Wizards of the Coast Canada, said the studio is meant to become Hasbro’s biggest concentration of video game talent. The announcement names no game and gives no release date.
